Cloud is internet. In cloud computing the corporate/customers do not have to worry about infrastructure cost, power consumption etc. They just have to buy licenses for each client to connect to the cloud. The data, software & hardware are handled by the companies like Microsoft, Google. End user can save money, time on buying, installing software & hardware. As an exmaple we can say, we have to install microsoft outlook in client system & connect them to exchange to connect for mails. In a cloud computing environment like gmail, hotmail, users just need tools like internet explorer to connect to the mails through internet(cloud) In other words it is the software & hardware in the datacenter, which can be accessed as service through an API. ie., virtualizing the resources. It is heard that SQL Server 2010 is planning to be released with a seperate Cloud Version.
